Biography
Milton Schwartz used to spend his time praying and making collages in vanilla colored folders where he would write and stick small pictures clipped from magazines and catalogues.
He then introduced different messages to disseminate “the word of God.” His texts are plagued with religious references and issues such as childcare rights and all kinds of contemporary symbols: the United States’ flag or images of public figures like Nelson Mandela. He lived right in the heart of South Beach (Florida), one step away from the beach and the bustling streets, the Miami Beach Public Library and the Bass Museum. However, he remained secluded in a world far away from the city lights and the cult of the body and the sun, a world where most residents of the Delta House see how their lives vanish while waiting for the next meal or the medication round.
